Book Swap

We will host a Book Swap on Tuesday, March 13th from 10:00-10:30 in our classroom.  If you would like your child to participate, send as many good books as you would like to swap.  Donations to the classroom library will be greatly appreciated.  Please no game cards.

Reading Tips

Remember you are your child's first teacher.  Make sure you are reading at least 15 minutes a day to your child.

Your child loves to play "I Spy" and "What's in the Picture".  This helps your child to develop a broader oral languauge.  You can also sing silly songs with your child and make up words as you go.

The US Department of Education and Great Schools are wonderful sites to further assist you.

Proper Hand Washing

I heard a news report the other day stating "don't be fooled, the cold and flu season is just around the corner".  The report said to make sure you are washing your hands often and using the proper hand washing procedure to prevent the spread of grems.  The Center for Disease Control has a wonderful podcast that can walk you through the steps if you are unsure.

The Centers for Disease Control (www.cdc.gov) has great resources for all health related concerns.

Happy Brithday Dr. Seuss!

The week of February 27th we will be kicking off Dr. Seuss' birthday week by eating Green Eggs and Ham for breakfast.  We will end the week by having a birthday party for Dr. Seuss.  Please dress your child as any Seuss character on Friday, March 2nd.

I am including a fun interactive site for your child (and you) to play with:  www.seussville.com
